On 25th December 2025, the Council Chairperson, His Worship Mr. Cliff Siachibweka, accompanied by the Council Secretary, Ms. Choolwe Maunga, visited Sinazongwe Zonal Rural Health Centre and Maamba General Hospital to welcome babies born on Christmas Day.
The Council distributed festive hampers to three (3)mothers as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme aimed at supporting maternal and child health.
Speaking during the visit, the Council Chairperson stated that Christmas represents hope and new beginnings, and that by welcoming children born on this day, the Council reaffirms its commitment to the welfare of citizens from the very beginning of life.
The Council Secretary noted that the initiative forms part of the Local Authority’s ongoing social responsibility efforts and commended health workers for their dedication and service, particularly those on duty during the festive period.
The mothers expressed appreciation for the gesture, noting that the support will be beneficial during the neonatal period.
