SINAZONGWE RECORDS SEVEN (7) NEW YEAR BABIES AS MOTHERS EXPRESS GRATITUDE TO THE COUNCIL CHAIRPERSON AND COUNCIL SECRETARY FOR EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP

A group of expectant mothers took the opportunity on Thursday 1st January 2026, to express their appreciation to the Council Chairperson Mr. Cliff Siachibweka and the Council Secretary Ms. Choolwe Maunga for their exceptional leadership in Sinazongwe district.
The mothers conveyed their gratitude for the notable developments and initiatives undertaken by the Council and Management in the district.
During the presentation of hampers to newborn babies, several mothers expressed their delight with various projects, stating that the Council and Management are undertaking commendable work that is transforming the district.
“We are not only receiving hampers for our babies today which is a good gesture and a blessing on our children, but we have also witnessed the ongoing projects throughout the district. The council’s social media platforms have brought us joy, and we hope this progress will continue,” one of the mothers remarked.
Council Secretary Ms. Choolwe Maunga assured the mothers that the Council will maintain a keen interest in programs supporting maternal and child health matters in the district through the department of Health Services.
The mothers expressed their gratitude during the presentation of hampers to welcome babies born on New Year’s Day.
Sinazongwe District recorded a total of Seven (7) New Year babies. Five (5) at Maamba General Hospital, One (1) at Sinazeze Rural Health Centre and another one at Sinamalima Rural Health Centre.
Dr. Mutinta Mwanang’andu the Medical Superintendent at Maamba Hospital thanked the Council Chairperson and the Council Secretary for their partnership with the Hospital in taking care of the new mothers and their babies.
