Sinazongwe Town Council has made significant progress in the installation of street lights in Mweemba and Malima Wards under the World Bank-funded Zambia Devolution Support Programme (ZDSP).
Siansowa, Siabaswi and Malima areas are benefiting from this initiative, which aims to improve security, road safety and promote socio-economic activities within the communities.
As Zambia is a signatory to the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development, particularly in advancing the welfare of women and children , improved street lighting contributes to creating safer public spaces and enabling inclusive participation in economic and social activities.
The projects are nearing completion, and residents are encouraged to safeguard the infrastructure for the benefit of present and future generations.
