TRAINING OF VOTER EDUCATION FACILITATORS SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED

Sinazongwe District successfully conducted a two-day training for thirty-two (32) Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) and District Voter Education Committee (DVEC) Members from 19th to 20th February, 2026 in preparation for the upcoming Inspection of the Voter Register Exercise by the Electoral Commission of Zambia.
The training was officially opened virtually by the District Registration Officer, Ms. Choolwe Maunga, who emphasized the importance of the inspection exercise and encouraged the VEFs to work closely with community leadership in the execution of their duties. She urged the facilitators to remain respectful as they engage with diverse groups within the community and to ensure that the voter education message reaches all members of society, particularly marginalized groups. Ms. Maunga further thanked the participants for their commitment and wished them success in carrying out the exercise.
The training aimed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively support the inspection of voter registers which will take place from 22nd February to 8th March, 2026 for online verification and 2nd March to 8th March, 2026 for physical verification.
Following the training, the VEFs will be deployed to all sixteen (16) wards across the district this Sunday, 22nd February, 2026, to conduct voter education and raise awareness among members of the community on the importance of verifying their details in the voter register.
All community members are encouraged to ensure that all eligible voters in Sinazongwe take part in this important exercise.
